Self-Compassion, You Can’t Give What You Don’t Have

Self-compassion is an important part of becoming more compassionate. It is the ability to be kind and understanding towards yourself, even during difficult times. It involves recognizing our shared humanity, understanding that we all experience suffering and that it’s ok to not always be perfect. Self-compassion involves being mindful of our thoughts and feelings, treating ourselves with kindness and respect, and recognizing that life is imperfect. As we practice self-compassion, we become more compassionate towards others as well.
